What Is PearlSoup?

PearlSoup is a community. We hope you'll make it YOUR community. It's a place to read others' reflections on the most meaningful events of their lives, and to learn from them. It's also a place to share your own experiences, especially the sort that you learned important things from - the experiences that have echoed through your life. We believe that everyone has wisdom, it's not something that is confined to an elite few. At the same time, from personal experience we know that we frequently aren't aware of our own everyday wisdom.

By reading other people's Pearls, we gain from their experiences. We also learn to recognize our own wisdom. And as we learn to recognize our wisdom, our experience of the world deepens. We increase our ability to draw on our experience to live a satisfying life.

As we become conscious of our own important stories, we become able to share those stories with our community.

It's exactly this sort of give and take - of reading others' stories and sharing our own - that fuels PearlSoup. It's about teaching one another how to fish, and eating fish at the same time.

Since PearlSoup is a written forum, we are striving to develop support for the continued growth of community members' writing skills. In the future we plan to offer a variety of resources to support both beginning and seasoned writers.
